We have hosted skiers here since 1988. With a small number of guests, there is time to learn your name, remember your drink, and ask about your day.
High-speed Starlink internet is available throughout all three guest lodges, including guest rooms and shared spaces.
Come in from the snow. Leave your boots to dry. We’ll take care of dinner.

Just steps from our iconic lake, spa, restaurants, and scenic trails, this off-grid retreat blends seclusion with comfort. While Wi-Fi and cell service are available throughout, rooms are intentionally free of TVs, mini-fridges, and A/C—fostering a deeper connection with your off-grid surroundings.

Where do guests stay at Island Lake?
Three timber lodges: Tamarack and Cedar with eight rooms each, and Red Eagle with ten — 26 rooms in total. The concierge helps match room layouts to your group.
What are the rooms like?
Comfortable mountain rooms with ensuite bathrooms, each lodge with its own character and common spaces for evenings. Room configurations vary, so discuss bedding and layout with reservations when you book.
Is there internet at the lodge?
Yes — high-speed Starlink internet runs throughout the lodges. On the mountain the guiding team uses guest radios for safety communication.
Where do we eat?
Breakfast and dinner are served in Tamarack Lodge; lunch travels in the snowcats on ski days. Evenings continue in the Bear Bar. Tell reservations about dietary requirements well before arrival.
Is there a spa?
Yes. The spa offers massages (book ahead — winter slots run 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 pm), plus cedar barrel saunas and a hot spa pool on the spa deck. Bring swimwear.
What time do we arrive and leave?
Meet at the lower parking area at 5 pm on arrival evening; snowcats depart at 5:30 pm for the 8 km ride to the lodge. On departure day, skiing ends around 3:30 pm and cats leave the lodge at 4:30 pm, reaching the parking area about 5 pm.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
Outside alcohol is not permitted under the guest policy. Drinks are available through the licensed bars, and alcohol is not permitted before or during the ski program.
